SAIHOJI MATCHA
Inspired by the moss temple and forest of Saihoji in Kyoto, and driven by a desire to bring the essence of true matcha into his daily life, James Simpson embarked on a journey across Japan to meet exceptional tea masters and cultivators. His intention was to share the refined aromas and deep provenance of ceremonial matcha with his community, grounding it in authenticity rather than trend.
Our strategic approach explored the art of ritual and the passage of time — between Japan and the United Kingdom, between tradition and modern rhythm. Rooted in reverence for nature and ancestral technique, the brand’s positioning — conceived well ahead of the matcha wave — was guided by a spirit of discovery and the quiet discipline of slowing down.
